Office computers can be easily destroyed and damaged by office workers. Even the ones that think they know what they are doing. Using Microsoft Windows available security measures to help protect the computer, operating system, files and user is always a smart thing to do. But knowing all the available options is impossible.

Removing access to the Control panel is always a good idea or at least the options within it. Especially options like (Add or Remove Programs) .

Here's how you can remove access to (Add or Remove Programs) from the control panel options.

Instructions

1. • 1 )Click (Start) button and click (Run) and then type [regedit] and hit {enter}
   • 2)Then in the Registry Editor browse to subkey
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\don't load
     
   • 3)Now you can remove ANY option in the control panel via adding a corresponding file name in this folder/subkey.
     For (Add or Remove Programs)
     Right click in the Registry edit in the right side panel and select (New > String Value)
     Now type the String Value Name as (appwiz.cpl)
     Now simply reboot and (Add or Remove Programs) will not be in the Control Panel any more.
     You can always use any option you hide from the Control Panel via Run window.
     For example Click (Start) button then click (Run) and then type [appwiz.cpl] and hit {enter}
     List of all options that you can hide/remove from the Control Panel.
